BMW X3 for Sale in Wilkes-Barre, PA
The new BMW X3 for sale, built in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and available at BMW of Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre, PA is one of the most exciting Sport Utility, er, Sports Activity Vehicles (SAV) on the road today. With room for five passengers and their things, it's proud of its reputation as the vehicle that helped to define the premium compact SAV/SUV market segment.
This third-generation carries on further from previous generations, improving on the already dynamically-bold body. The exterior dimension remains the same as it ever was (Talking Heads), although the wheelbase has grown by 2.2 inches, which by itself doesn't seem like much, but in dog years yields much more room in the backseat. Work with us here. The extended wheelbase actually balances the BMW X3 out with perfect 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear axles.
The vehicle is available in several trim levels ranging from standard xLine and running up to the available Luxury Package. And for those who prefer their BMW X3 to look a bit more aggressive, there's the M Sport Package with its M Aerodynamic Kit, 19- or 20-inch M double spoke wheels, and an interior performance parts kit. Regardless of which model you select, all include driver-oriented cockpits that help to keep you informed about the performance of your vehicle. And we haven't even talked of the new nearly 10-inch larger panoramic sunroof.
Also back for a return performance, is BMW's Connected Drive, with the iDrive Controller that helps to operate the Navigation System Professional. Optional BMW Gesture Control allows you to swirl your finger in front of the 10.25-inch display screen. Through these means, you can operate a variety of functions including communications, navigation and numerous infotainment operations without actually touching a button or screen.
On the center console of the X3, is the Driving Dynamics Control toggle switch, which now offers Adaptive Mode, when equipped with Dynamic Damper Controls. They will work to enhance the other settings including ECO PRO, COMFORT, SPORT and SPORT+ (M40i only) modes.
The new SUV is equipped with a small-but-mighty 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine that manages to make 248 horsepower with maximum torque at 258 lb-ft or torque. This powerful, yet extremely economical inline four-cylinder is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission for quick starts and smooth drivability. But that doesn't mean it's a slug: Zero to 60 mph comes in just 6.0 seconds, with a top speed of 130 mph.
The halo vehicle of the BWM X3 lineup is the M40i. Featuring best in segment acceleration, it is powered by a 3.0-liter M Performance TwinPower Turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 355 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Mated to an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission with Launch Control, that has been beefed up for the added torque, it is both the segment leader in acceleration, and capable of a 0-60 excursion in 4.6 seconds. Speed is limited to a respectable 155 mph.
As with all BMW models, those which are destined for America will include xDrive all-wheel-drive, for increased traction and superior handling. These and a host of other extras help to cement the X3's role as that of the Ultimate Driving Machine. Discuss your next Bimmer with the professionals at BMW of Wyoming Valley.
