Great Deals on BMW X4 in Wilkes-Barre, PA

The BMW X4 and X4 M40i are two of the latest Sport Activity Vehicles (SAV) from BMW Plant Spartanburg and available for sale at BMW of Wyoming Valley in Wilkes-Barre, PA. What's a Sport Activity Vehicle you ask? It's what all the other automakers call a Sport Utility Vehicle. It just seems that BMW owners are more active people, hence the name. We just made that part up.

The BMW X4 and X4 M40i are the latest in the SAV Coupe lineup and feature room for five, through four doors and a hatchback for the ultimate in practicality and functionality. And they are quite sporting in nature. Now in its second generation, the BMW X4 makes the scene with a longer, lower and wider silhouette that is frankly, faster than it was before.

Big and Little<

For 2020, the BMW X4 M40i gains two inches in wheelbase, three inches in overall length, and 1.5 inches of width over the previous model. The two-inch stretch adds more backseat leg room to the new BMW X4, making it easier to go along for the ride than ever before. And just in time for a trip to the big box store, there is 18.5 cubic feet of cargo space in the wayback. There is a 40:20:40 rear seat, that when folded forward, allows the cargo space of the BMW X4 to grow to 50.5 cubic feet.

The new BMW X4 looks more athletic than ever before and even a slight bit like its big brother BMW X6. A character line works its way up from the door handles of the vehicle to the rear taillights, leaving a leaner look overall. "It features a dynamic silhouette, with a pared-back use of forms," said Adrian van Hooydonk, BMW Group Senior VP of Design.

Two trim levels of the new BMW X4 define the segment, starting with the xLine model, which is the base offering, while the BMW X4 M Performance model features a more aerodynamic front and rear quadrant with wheel aprons and side skirts. The performance-oriented BMW X4 M40i contains more M Performance content including M-Sport seating, a sport leather steering wheel and other M-specific interior trim pieces.

The new BMW X4 comes in two models. Standard is the BMW X4 xDrive30i, which includes a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. That's an increase from the 2018 model of the vehicle, gaining 8 hp but losing two pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 mph comes on in 6.0-seconds, with a top speed of 130 mph.

Power users can select the BMW X4 M40i, which receives its motivation from a 3.0-liter TwinPower turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine delivering 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. While it has a top speed of 155 mph, it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6-seconds. Power for both engines of the vehicle is delivered to an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The BMW X4 M40i takes advantage of the brand's Adaptive M Suspension. And even though it rides higher than a sedan, the BMW X4 M40i is still able to boast of a perfect 50:50 weight bias between the front and rear axles.

New to our BMW X4 M40i, is an available active safety system that initiates protective measures when it senses an accident is about to occur. Also included are distracted driver alerts, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with antilock braking system (ABS), Auto Differential Brake (ADB-X), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), and Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), which are all part of the safety suite on the 2020 BMW X4 model.

Navigation from the BMW X4 system is housed on a larger 10.25-inch display screen that can be controlled by BMW's iDrive Touch controller complete with finger gestures controls in front of the central display screen. It's amazing to watch as you twirl your finger to raise or lower the volume and other controls.

Driving this BMW X4 makes one thing perfectly clear: This is an SAV that thinks it's a sports car. Try as we might, there was very little that we could do to upset this BMW X4 ride's ride. It's just another example of why the BMW X4 is the Ultimate Driving Machine.
