BMW X6 M for Sale in Wilkes-Barre, PA

It's not your normal Sports Activity Vehicle, the BMW X6 M is. Instead, it's a fastback play on the largest BMW SAV that will get you from point A to point B in the quickest time possible. Ridiculously fast, thanks to its big V8 powerplant, it may not have as large a cargo hold but it will definitely garner more attention than its larger capacity big brother, the X5 M.

The best part though, of the X6 M, is what it really can do. Through the use of the M-Powerplants, this X6 M can feel at home at the track as well as on the street. The choice is yours and with your BMW from BMW ofWyoming Valley, the journey becomes just as important as the destination.

M-Power.

While not as large as its X5 M big brother, it's every bit as powerful. While both the standard X6 and the X6 M feature V8 power, that's where the similarities end. Under this powerbulged hood rests a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbocharged V8 producing 567 horsepower between 6,000 and 6,500 rpm. Torque checks in at 553 lb-ft between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm. Push the starter button on the center console and your palms will perspire with anticipation. But the trouble is that you just aren't supposed to feel this way in an SUV or an SAV.

All that power is directed to the eight-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission with Drivelogic. A double clutch transmission arrangement, it operates under the principal of having one clutch handling one particular gear while the other clutch is preparing to "load" the next sequential gear. The result is a smoother operating gearbox that also just happens to provide better fuel efficiency than a standard transmission.

Enthusiast drivers love the possibilities that are also presented by this transmission. In addition to letting it shift by itself, a driver can take matters into their own hands by placing it in manual mode. From there Drivers can bump through the gears via the steering wheel-mounted paddle shift levers for rapid shifts and spirited driving. And for all the hoonigans in the house, the BMW X6 M is equipped with Launch Control which has nothing to do with NASA. Well not exactly. Using the system, a driver locks the brakes, and then loads the accelerator, pushing it almost all the way to the floor. At exactly the right moment, the driver releases the brakes, at which point, if your X6 M could launch into orbit, it probably would. Ground control to Major Tom, indeed.

Intelligent All-wheel-drive.

While the X6 M is equipped with BMW xDrive Intelligent all-wheel-drive and Dynamic Performance Control to provide outstanding vehicle dynamics, the reality is that the X6 M will rarely see an off-roading trail. A track day event on an actual race circuit is another story, and one where the X6 M will truly shine. But should there ever be a situation where slippage occurs, the DPC system can vary the torque load from 0-to-100 percent at both the front and the rear axle whenever needed. With the addition of BMW M Servotronic steering, and M Motorsport braking system along with performance staggered tires, you'll quickly realize you are behind the wheel of a Sports Activity Vehicle that thinks it's a sports car.

The sum of the BMW X6 M's parts are just another clear example of how and why BMW is the Ultimate Driving Machine.
