Your BMW X4 is the fastback second-generation version of the one of BMW's most popular Sport Activity Vehicles. Your Ultimate Driving Machine is built in Greer, South Carolina, and speaks German with a decidedly Southern twang that's always up for a good time.

Don't let the twang fool you, though, because in the case of the X4, it's a sophisticate, as well. It's the perfect vehicle to get you from point A to point B in comfort with amazing responsiveness! Properly maintenance by certified BMW mechanics will make sure that your BMW X4 continues on with its legendary driving ability.

But what type of maintenance is necessary? We're glad you asked that question. BMW has compiled a service schedule that outlines everything you need to do for your BMW X4 to make sure it continues to perform as you expect it would. Simply bring it by BMW of Wyoming Valley, where our BMW-certified technicians will outline with you the steps that will help keep your X4 at the top of its game. Proper maintenance will help to keep your service costs down and your vehicle's value up.

BMW service schedules are divided into mileage increments. Since the company recommends the use of synthetic motor oil, we suggest changing your synthetic oil and your oil filter every 10,000 miles or 12 months, whichever comes first. It's also time, at 10,000 miles to inspect and change the coolant, if needed.

If you take your Wyoming Valley BMW X4 off-roading or subject it to heavy duty usage such as towing through mountainous regions or dry/sandy/arid areas, we recommend changing the oil and filter every 5,000 miles instead.

During this service interval, ask your Service advisor to rotate the tires at the same time. This allows them to wear evenly at each corner, thereby guaranteeing the longest life possible from them. When they are being rotated, it's also the perfect time to examine the brake pads and rotors. They will then check to make sure your vehicle is not subject to any service campaigns or recalls. Finally, it's time to wrap up the service with a check of the tire pressure and topping off of fluids.

At 30,000 miles it's time to change the brake fluid and perform a check of the entire braking system. Although the first brake fluid service happens at 30,000 miles, it should be continued at 60,000 mile intervals after that.

At 60,000 miles, it's quite a momentous occasion. At this time, your BMW of Wyoming Valley mechanic will change the X4's fuel filters, engine air filter and spark plugs, so that your X4, while not exactly being new, will definitely feel like new!

Each time you bring your BMW X4 in for service, your Wyoming Valley service technician will perform a multi-point inspection to make sure your BMW X4 Sport Activity Vehicle "stays" in the game.
During other multi-point inspections, your BMW mechanic will inspect the drive boots,  the cooling system, the brake fluid, fuel lines, the engine- and in-cabin air filter, a complete inspection of steering, exhaust and suspension components, and finally a reset of all maintenance and warning lights.
Your BMW Mechanic and BMW X4 Owner's Manual can offer additional information.

But wait, there's more! The windshield wipers on your BMW X4 should also be inspected, as well. Critical to the safety of you and your vehicle, wipers can wear out and not necessarily because they have been used too much. UV rays, high heat, humidity and even extreme cold can all conspire to shorten the lifespan of a measly pair of wiper blades.

These extremes, can cause the rubber to powder away or become brittle and break. Your BMW service advisors recommend replacing them every six months. A quick stop at the parts and service department of Wyoming Valley BMW for a set of factory-authorized windshield wiper replacements is all it takes to have your X4's windshield sparkling again. Our service team will be happy to see you. Need directions? Google "mechanics near me" and there we are.

Other aspects of care for your BMW X4 need to be checked and repaired at various times. They include an all-wheel-alignment on your BMW X4 SAV by the Wyoming Valley Service department. It's sort of like your BMW paying a visit to the chiropractor. You will know you are due for it if you find your X4 drifting off to the right or left when you are supposed to be cruising straight town the highway.

Before sending your BMW X4 off to the alignment rack, make sure your Wyoming Valley service advisor rotates the vehicle's tires before they perform the alignment service, to insure they receive equal wear at all four corners. Consult your BMW X4 owner's manual for more information.

Tires: Your BMW of Wyoming Valley X4 is useless without them so make sure you check their tread wear and tire pressure on a monthly basis. In addition to all the other checks performed on your vehicle reach into your pocket for a Lincoln head penny, and you have an instant tire tread depth checker, too!

Simply place ole Abe Lincoln head first into your BMW X4's tire tread. If the treads cover "Honest Abe's" ears, you are good to continue on. If you can see any air above Lincoln's head, it's time for an immediate change. Bald is for old men, eagles and babies, not your tires. The Parts Department at BMW of Wyoming Valley will stock exact replacements for your X4, all at competitive prices.

Nobody knows how to service your BMW X4 like the factory-trained mechanics and technicians at BMW of Wyoming Valley. Call us for an appointment today.
