  • What's better, to lease or finance a BMW 6 Series? It all depends on your situation. Are you going to drive more than 10,000 miles per year? If so, financing a car might be a better deal. Sure, there are high-mileage leases as well as options to buy additional miles if needed but in general, leases are best suited for people that don't drive that many miles. To find out what goes into consideration when deciding on leasing or buying check out our Leasing vs Buying - What's Better article.

  • Is maintenance included in the BMW 6 Series monthly lease payments? Yes, if you're about to lease a new BMW 6 Series, maintenance is included in the monthly payments. Since all new cars are covered by BMW's original warranty you receive all factory-recommended maintenance services, including engine oil, engine filter, brake fluid, and spark plug changes. All you have to do is bring your car to an authorized BMW dealership. To learn more check out the official BMW Ultimate Care page.
  • Is there any limit on the miles driven per year? Currently, the limit is 30,000 miles on a 36-month lease. If you go over the limit, there will be a charge of $0.25/mile (as of writing this) at the end of the lease period. To avoid the charges, consider either prepaying for additional miles or choosing a high-mileage lease. Have more miles-related questions? Give us a call at (570) 338-6955 and we'll be happy to answer them all.

  • Can additional miles be purchased at the time of signing the lease? Yes, if you know that there's a good chance you'll go over the limit during the lease term, pre-paying for miles is a sound idea. This way you will pay less, compared to what you will pay for the same miles at the end of the lease term. One thing to note is that you won't get a refund for the miles you prepaid but didn't drive.
  • Is GAP insurance included in the lease or is it bought separately? Guaranteed Auto Protection (GAP) insurance is not included in the lease. It can be purchased either from the leasing company or a third-party insurance company of your choosing. To make sure you get the best deal possible, we recommend requesting quotes from multiple insurance companies.

  • My lease expires in a couple of months. Can I purchase the BMW 6 Series I have been driving? Yes, you can do that. The buyout price is spelled out in the lease contract so you already know what it is. One thing that people don't know is that they don't have to wait for the lease to be over to buy that Beemer; it can be done at any point during the lease term. If you want to discuss that option, call BMW of Wyoming Valley at (570) 338-6955 now.
  • Can I get out of my lease early? Yes, you can cancel your lease before the term is over but you will be charged early cancellation fees. It's possible to either minimize or completely avoid paying them, depending on what you want to do next. For a few possible scenarios, check out our Early Lease Termination- What You Need to Know article. If you still have questions, give us a call at (570) 338-6955 to speak with an experienced lease specialist.

  • Can I extend my lease? Yes, it's definitely an option. BMW's lingo for that is re-lease but the idea is the same, you get to drive your Beemer after the lease is over (12-24 months). This gives you enough time to decide whether you want to keep or find a good deal on another car. To extend your current lease either visit BMW of Wyoming Valley or call us at (570) 338-6955.
  • Are BMW leases transferable? Yes, a BMW lease can be transferred. You can either find someone to take over your lease or use a lease swap service where they list the vehicle, find an interested person and handle the paperwork for you, for a fee. There's also a $500 transfer initiation fee ($400 refundable if credit is turned down) that BMW charges.

  • Can a certified pre-owned BMW be leased, too? Yes, and that's something a lot of people don't know. BMW of Wyoming Valley has plenty of CPOs (certified pre-owned vehicles) that can be leased. You can check our current selection here. What makes leasing a pre-owned Beemer a good idea? All CPO BMWs come with a bumper-to-bumper warranty that extends the factory warranty by two years. If you want to learn more about why leasing a used car might be a good idea check out our Advantages and Disadvantages of Leasing a Used Car article.

  • Can I lease a BMW with a bad credit score? It is certainly possible even though you won't get the term you see advertised (they are only for drivers with excellent credit). Don't get discouraged, though. Just give us a call at (570) 338-6955 and speak with one of our finance specialists.
