This new 2 Series model is the most affordable way to enter the BMW stratosphere. Here you can select rear or all-wheel drive, two-door Coupe or four-door Gran Coupe models in a wide variety of trim levels. M240i xDrive Coupe

Engines and Transmissions

Depending on trim and style, there are several motivational options for the BMW 2 Series. These include the base BMW 228i Gran Coupe, powered by a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine making 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. In base form, it's a front-wheel drive package. xDrive is the all-wheel drive model.

The M235i xDrive Gran Coupe gets a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder making 302 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, driving all four wheels.

The two-door 230i Coupe arrives with a standard 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine making 255 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. It's available in either rear or all-wheel xDrive.

A turbocharged 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine moves the M240i with 382 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. Again, it's available with rear wheel or xDrive all-wheel drive.

All engines are matched to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The BMW M2 is another turbo 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine developing 453 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose between an 8-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission at no additional cost. In the case of the M2, it is rear-wheel drive only, with no option for xDrive.


With the BMW 2 Series, Looks Count, Too

The looks of both the two and four door BMW 2 Series vehicles are contemporary and exciting at the same time. In the case of the Gran Coupe, that's what the brand calls their four-door models. The Coupe refers to the standard two-door model.

The four-door coupe starts with a dual-vented grille and array of LED Lighting that form a squinting look that is imposing from every angle. An intake below the bumper will help cool the engine on the 228i and 228i xDrive models while the M235 xDrive Gran Coupe gets a larger intake because of the extra power coming from the 302 hp turbo four-cylinder engine.

The 2 Series two-door coupe features a long nose and short tail configuration that exudes the excitement you would expect from a sports touring performance car.
